One of the main concerns of Microsoft with regards its property management was the efficiency. I was asked to carry out a condition survey on their contracts for energy management. I suggested few substantial changes and negotiated with suppliers the recommissioning of their meters, as well as installation of few improvements.
As a result the consumption of power decreased a 35%, before changes in demand.
The reliability of power supply also improved and a new transformation centre was built by the supply company, in order to secure safe and reliable service. Needless to say, that working for such an influential company helped my negotiations with the suppliers. I held conversations with developers, council and estates agents, as well as utility suppliers. The overall outcome was entirely satisfactory.
